Idugo is an onshore Island close to Pebane, 7 hours from Quelimane, without road access and harbors. All preparation works to transport the goods commenced in October 2023. Despite being an extremely challenging operation due to the access conditions, without access by land, the mission was carried out successfully. It was the culmination of an broad effort, ranging from engineering skills and logistic knowledge to bring energy and development to the local population. It should be noted that, during the works, the entire community was involved, with a large part of the workers being locals and hired to participate in the operation.
The local leader embraced the mission with great enthusiasm and a feeling of gratitude for the work aimed to develop the island. The massive logistical operation from Pebane to Idugo Island moved the entire community and brought hope to access to electricity. The embedded and very strong social aspect helped our teams in succeeding with this challenging phase of this project.
